Where to Buy LVP in Clarksville, TN: What to Know Before You Choose

If you’re shopping for LVP in Clarksville, don’t start with the color.

Start with how the floor is built.

Two luxury vinyl planks can look nearly identical on a sample board and perform very differently once they’re covering 1,500 square feet of your home. Thickness, wear layer, core construction, locking system, installation method, and even the floor underneath it all play a role in how well your new flooring performs.

That’s why finding the right LVP is about more than finding a plank you like. Here are a few things worth understanding before you buy.

Not All LVP Is Built the Same

“LVP” describes a category of flooring, not a single level of quality.

Walk into a flooring store and you may find dozens of products that all look similar but have very different specifications and price points. Some are designed for lighter residential use. Others are built to withstand pets, children, rental turnovers, or heavier commercial traffic.

One specification you’ll commonly hear about is the wear layer. This is the protective layer over the printed design of the plank. Generally, a more substantial wear layer provides greater protection against everyday wear.

But wear layer shouldn't be the only number you compare. The construction of the plank itself matters, too.

A good flooring professional should be able to explain those differences rather than simply hand you a sample and ask which color you like.

Click-Lock or Glue-Down LVP?

This is another decision many homeowners don't realize they need to make.

Click-lock LVP connects together and floats over the subfloor rather than being adhered directly to it. It's a popular option for residential projects and can provide a substantial, comfortable finished floor.

Glue-down LVP is adhered directly to a properly prepared substrate. We commonly see it used in commercial spaces, rental properties, and other applications where its construction and installation method make sense for the project.

Neither installation method is automatically better.

The right answer depends on the property, subfloor, application, budget, and what you expect from the floor long-term.

What Is Under Your LVP Matters

You can buy an excellent flooring product and still end up disappointed if the floor underneath it isn't properly evaluated and prepared.

Uneven areas, moisture concerns, unsuitable substrates, or other existing floor conditions can affect the finished installation.

That's one reason buying flooring based exclusively on price per square foot can be misleading. The material is only one part of the project.

Before installation begins, you want to understand both what you're putting down and what you're putting it over.

In-Stock vs. Special-Order LVP

If your project has a tight timeline, ask what is actually available before falling in love with a particular product.

Special-order flooring can give you access to a much larger range of colors, constructions, and manufacturers. That's great when you have the flexibility to wait for exactly what you want.

But sometimes you don't.

A rental needs to get back on the market. You're trying to finish a renovation before moving in. The old flooring has already been removed. Your contractor is waiting.

In those situations, an in-stock LVP can dramatically simplify the process.

You Don't Have to Choose Flooring From a Computer Screen

Quality Floor Covering has served the Clarksville area for more than 35 years, and we have a physical showroom and warehouse right here in Clarksville.

That means you can come in, look at flooring in person, compare products and talk through what you're actually trying to accomplish.

We carry in-stock LVP options for customers who need flooring quickly, while also offering access to additional products when a special-order floor makes more sense.

And we're not limited to selling you a box of flooring and sending you on your way.

We can help with product selection, measuring, estimating and professional installation. If you already have an installer and simply need material, we can help with that too.

The point isn't to sell every customer the same floor.

It's to figure out what your project actually calls for and find the product that fits it.
